EQUIPMENT & SAFETY ISSUES

The following information was presented at the February 27, 2002 MIFDI meeting by Deputy Chief Edward Morgan, North Andover Fire Department.  Here is a copy of the letter faxed to Deputy Chief Morgan from Pelican Products:

Thank you for the opportunity today to discuss your department’s experiences with our BIG ED ® flashlight.  As discussed, BIG ED’s have been used with great satisfaction by fire departments across the country.  In fact, BIG ED ® is quickly becoming the right angel flashlight of choice.

The BIG ED’s ® you received last spring where a combination of ‘first generation’ and potentially some show sample units.  Either way, the fact remains that you and the department are not satisfied with these units.  D.C. Morgan, we took the liberty of sending your department 55 replacement BIG ED’s ® last Friday ( 22nd February).  I took this action after trying to return your call, which you made to PELICAN.  In my attempts to reach you, I did speak to Dianne and Lieutenant Mike Burns and they communicated your experiences.  PELICAN PRODUCT, INC ® has a straight forward product guarantee which follows:
“If for any reason you are not satisfied with the quality or performance of any PELICAN product, PELICAN PRODUCTS will continue to guarantee the product, directly, for a lifetime, against breakage or defects in workmanship…
THE ABOVE GUARTNTEE DOES COVER SHARBITE, BEAR ATTACK, OR CHILDREN UNDER 5”
Your replacement product should arrive this week.  Deputy Chief Morgan, I have also taken the liberty of sending you some additional PELICAN PRODUCTS for your evaluation.
We at PELICAN PRODUCTS will not be happy until you and the North Andover Fire Department – are not only satisfied but happy with PELICAN PRODUCTS ®.  Again, all of our products are manufactured here at our facility in Torrance, CA USA.
